The Beatles or Wings will NEVER become irrelevant ..not in my book anyway 😉 I saw them at Shea Stadium in 1965 when I was 11yr. . I have seen McCartney a few times...he still at 81 puts on a 3hr show ! Incredible multi intrumentalies...he wrote the most melodic tune outside of Harrison's Something. . Thanks for doing a video on your thoughts on the Beatles.

At the more affordable end, consider trying some of the other Barber pedals - Gain Changer or Direct Drive. Barber’s Small Fry is their original take on the Dumble thing (Zen Drive). As you say, the Buss pedal is great but not in production. The Burn Unit is closer to the Dumble thing (and part of the evolution that included the Small Fry previously). I don't work for Barber, just a long time user of his stuff.

TS has always been too Nasal for my taste. Zen does sound better here. NEVER underestimate the volume roll off on your guitar. It can really do great things with any pedal. I like to actually turn up the gain a bit on the pedal and roll off the guitar volume. It does a thing.

The Revo-1 amp & cab was the best metal amp selection Zoom ever put out, from looking around I don't see it in this little pedal. This particle verb are nice but it seems to be its star pedal only. The money shot for Zoom would be to create a duel 2 - DSP 48khz sampling rate, 128x oversampling converter and filter with 110-119db dynamic range mid size pro modeler, perhaps slightly bigger than the HX Stomp. Putting as many amp & cabs models as possible and include the Revo-1! A guitar modeler that's affordable and powerful for beginner, intermediate or pro level players across the board. If Zoom does that they will take a huge lions share of the guitar modeler market. There's too many young players coming in who are phenomenal players tier level guitar modelers and 44.1khz will get left behind. Everyone does guitar videos these days this is not audio track studio anymore, players want the best sound to be in their video compilations and that can only be achieved with 48khz sample rate frequency and superior dynamic audio range. Right now I see Nux leading the way since there's are the most affordable.

I bought one. It sounds great It plays beautify. It has an exceptional top and back too. Hear comes the but...I think Gibson really dropped the ball in terms of it's replica status. No gloss finish? No 50s wiring spec? No cherry Finish on the back? No nylon nut? No vintage correct tall trim rings for the pickups? No R9 spec ABR1 and stop bar? I really don't care to spend thousands more to have my guitar professionally damaged (aged). That said it's on it's way to Historic Makeovers and it'll return the way Gibson should have done it in the first place. Yes it's going to cost me more but not as much as an R9 would. And certainly not as much as a Murphy lab. Yes i do think it"s worth the effort. Sometimes you just have to go the extra mile to get what you want.

My best advice would be for people to try things and get the things that allow them to express themselves the best whether that’s budget, expensive, analog or digital. Yeh if you don't like a Tubescreamer, the Zendrive is definitely related init!!

I've had loads of zendrives and I am fortunate enough to have I'd say one of the best Dumble ods replicas in the world (no joke! go to my youtube for a listen) In my opinion, the magic of the zendrive is mainly with a bridge humbucker pickup. The thing just explodes with harmonics when pushed with this pickup or something like a P90, or a hot tele bridge. Neck pickup is not a vibe, Strat pickup just doesn't do it. The bridge humbucker is where this pedal really shines and does it's thing, and it has to be turned up. Lovepedal is currently doing old school build zendrives, and I can't tell the difference between it and my old original.

I have an original Zendrive. Love it. I've tried the Lovepedal various versions, which are also great, but not quite as good as the original. The Zendrive is great into a clean amp, and also works great before a Marshall in a box to push it into more overdrive. I have a Helix as well, and like the Dhyana drive model, which is close. The Zendrive in front of the Helix is a great "add a drive at any time" pedal.

I think I'll just rename all my favorite clean to 'edge of' tones as Dumble #1, #2, #3...... Then I'll be playing a Dumble all the time........🙄

Compared to Hx Stomp ( or Hx effects) , things worth mentioning in another video: 1. The Send-Return of the Hx are said to be noisy , what about the Mx5? 2. Less models but more slots-blocks and I haven`t found anything about Mx5 coming short of DSP when using all those slots with whatever is available ( does it mean you can easily have 2 holds/freeze or more in the MX5?) 3.What about the "quality" of the models, which one gets closer ( or better) to the modeled thing? for example: best Princeton Reverb 4. As for the routing possibilities, are they the same in both systems? 5.Having less models/effects, which ones do you miss most in the MX5 ( excluiding amps, cabs, distortions) , maybe poly shifting? Enough Delays and reverbs in the MX5 for an ambient player? Well, I think it is enough. Thanks for your videos.

I haven't compared them head to head on a lot of the things... In terms of models - I think the Headrush stuff - coming from Avid - is probably a little less "accurate" but probably close enough not to matter. Definitely way more DSP on the MX5 and seamless patch switching. Routing is similar I think, but more dsp on the MX5 means you get way more blocks. One area I didn't thing the Headrush shines is the reverbs - but they're totally functional!
